The wolf was to be the guardian and protector of the zodiac animals, it was the wolf's role to lead them and watch out for them, but the Jade Emperor wanted this role, the Jade Emperor was greedy and wanted the animals to be under his reign. On the night of the feast, the Jade Emperor sent hunters after the dire wolf, and it's said that as the wolf lay dying she transformed into a beautiful woman and cursed the Jade Emperor with her last breath. Sohma legend/myth: The zodiac wolf had always been born as a male, but many believed that when the wolf was born to a female who could transform into the original white wolf, that the Sohma curse would be broken within her lifespan and that the wolf would take her rightful place as protector of the Sohma family. Everyone believes the day a girl is cursed by the wolf she will be blessed with unusual talents.

Once upon a time, God heald a large banquet for all the animals of the zodiac. The mouse had thought it would be fun to play a trick on his friend the cat by telling him that the banquet was the day after tomorrow. So while the mouse and all the other zodiac members were at the banquet, the foolish cat stayed home and dreamt of a day that would never come. But the day before the banquet the cat had told his friend the fox that it was tomorrow as well. As sly as the fox was, he was easily tricked because he trusted the cat so much. After a day of frolicking in the forest to make the day end faster, the fox had saw the mouse sleeping on a small tree stump with a large belly. The fox went to speak to the mouse when the mouse spoke in his sleep. "No more food... I'm too full...ahhh...banquet food." He mumbled turning on his side. The fox was shocked at the sleeping mouse's words. After his encounter with the mouse that day, the fox never spoke to the cat again for his trust was broken.
