To you a scar is a scar and a mark is a mark but to your soulmate it is a mystery. Twenty two year old Castiel or "Cas" Novak is curious to the oil smudges and messy scrawl and twenty four year old Dean Winchester is fascinated with the small notes and creative scribbles that dance across his arms throughout the day. Its too bad times, dates, and places are murked by fate.

Cas, Dean, and Sam have been hunting together and splitting off to take smaller jobs. The story starts with the three of them on three separate hunts. Cas is human and wounded. He shows up at Dean's motel in need of help. What proceeds is the two of them meeting up with Sam and going on an involved hunt, over the course of which Dean and Cas slowly figure out their feelings for each other. Lots of awkwardness (in a good way), some mild angst, comfort, and eventually fluff and smut.

Castiel and Dean are beginning their second year of college with spirits high with both their brother's at their side. However, Dean soon gets injured in work-related accident, but Castiel might just lose everything as it soon shows that things were not what they seemed. Sequel to Why Are You Hiding Your Wings. I recommend you read that first!

Dean was only eighteen years old when his father died, leaving him with just his two-year-old brother and the house which he had grown up in.

Highschool/Soulmates AU The Novak's and Winchester's live in a world where everything is grey, up until you meet your soulmate, at which point they'll be able to see colours. It all seems pretty simple, unless you don't know who you met. Dean and Castiel met drunk at a party, waking up with no memory but colours everywhere. They have no idea who they met but Castiel is determined to find his soulmate. Dean however is not exactly enthusiastic about the idea of soulmates. Sam, the 'perfect' student, gets a bit bored and ups his small pranks to starting a war with the schools renowned Trickster. Of course, Gabriel has no idea who this guy is but that doesn't stop the war between them. And so without meaning to, the two start to know each other quite well.
