"she caught every pitch life threw her way, except the one that mattered most." Katie Kennedy - "KK" to everyone who's ever seen her throw out a runner or hit a home run. she was never the kind of girl who shied away from the grass and dirt of the diamond. born and raised under the golden California sun, she lived for the smell of pine tar and the sound of a ball snapping into her glove-the softball field was her first love and behind home plate was where she belonged. now it's 2025, and that same girl is a national icon-Team USA's starting catcher, olympic gold medalist, and the face of a generation that grew up watching her chase every dream she ever had. from championship games to magazine covers and interviews, her life moves at lightning speed. everyone wants a piece of her story-except the part she left behind. one ordinary coffee run with a teammate changes everything. Because tucked into the corner of a quiet, familiar café is Bronson "Bronny" Balholm-the boy she never got to tell the truth to before he left for college in Arizona and took her heart with him. the past she thought she'd outrun is suddenly standing right in front of her. with fame in her rearview mirror and emotions she buried long ago rising to the surface, Katie is forced to confront a question she's avoided for years: what does home really mean? is it the stadiums that built her legacy or the small town that shaped her heart? in a trip back home, love and nostalgia collide in a story about second chances, unfinished chapters, and the truth that sometimes, the hardest journey isn't to the top... it's back to where it all began. "she thought she'd left her small town heart behind with her dusty cleats and broken promises. but one familiar smile is all it takes to remind her that home isn't just a place-it's a person."

Elora Rosewood was a teacher in Tennessee, of course a country girl. She was famous for writing a couple books based off her teenage years. Her friends had seen a baseball team called "Savanah Bananas", who had blown up on TikTok were coming to Nashville. They were going against "the party animals." Her friends were partiers while she was at home spending her time in books. They had forced her to go to the game. Tanner "Tinder" Thomas played on the party animals, #4 the outfielder. They were all hyped for the game at Nashville, he never thought a "fan" in the crowd would catch his eye. Then he saw her in the stands, and he knew the long awaiting time of him being single would be gone soon. All because of the eye contact they had together. But little did he know this girl was dangerous, she had loads of trauma that usually scared people off. Let's see if he's here for the long ride

"she's behind the camera. he's stealing her focus." Lauren Vavasis has always been surrounded by the ocean and the game. born and raised in Florida, she splits her time between the University of South Florida softball field and the gulf coast shoreline-studying marine biology by day, framing sunsets and fastballs through her camera lens by night. as USF's starting second baseman and catcher, she's disciplined, creative, and quietly competitive-a girl who sees the world in snapshots and stolen bases. her older brother, however, lives and breathes chaos. as the head coach of the Party Animals, the Savannah Bananas' wild, show-stealing rivals, he's loud, unpredictable, and fiercely protective. especially, when it comes to his little sister. so when he lands Lauren a summer internship as the team's official photographer, he assumes she'll stay behind the lens, focused on her work. but the moment Bronson "Bronny" Balholm, the Party Animals' charismatic catcher, steps into frame, everything changes. he's confident, charming, and entirely off-limits. as the season unfolds, boundaries blur between what's professional and what feels impossible to ignore. and when the team lights dim and the crowds go home, Lauren begins to wonder if she's photographing the story or living it. now caught between loyalty and longing, she must decide whether to protect her brother's trust or take a chance on something real-even if it means letting herself be the one caught this time. because in The Coach's Sister, sometimes the best stories happen behind the camera... and the hardest hearts to capture are your own. NOTE: this story is based in Lauren's POV. i don't know if vava has a sister or not, but lets just say that he does in this story.
