[4th of july special: ✔] Being new to New York was not as glamorous as movies would make it out to be. Especially since the only people I knew were those who worked at the studio with me (and my neighbors) but didn't even give some girl from Tennessee a second glance. It's an unfortunate name because it had everything to do with this dreadful day, because the first few things that pop into your mind when someone says "Valentine's Day" is hearts and roses - yeah, love, chocolates and giant teddy bears too but let me complain. I think it's all too dramatic and pointless. But it's even worse when your boss knows you're single and tells you to come into work even though he had already asked you to work on your birthday. Working at a restaurant on Valentine's Day was not my ideal way of 'celebrating' this 'holiday'.
