My name is Adeline Léonie Durand. First-year Sorbonne student. Future doctor. Chronically exhausted by idiots. Medicine isn't just a career - it's my passion. I had a plan: study hard, become a physician, and throw myself into the only thing that ever made sense. And then I opened my eyes - and found myself in Jerusalem. In the year 1176. Surprise, Adeline. Welcome to a world where antibiotics don't exist and leprosy is treated with prayers. Was our meeting a mistake? Or a miracle? I was born to heal and save. He was born to rule - and die young. We come from different worlds. Different times. Different realities. What could we possibly become...? A Heart of Leprosy is a story about lives from different centuries colliding in a single moment. About two souls separated by time - and connected by a single touch.

After a tragic accident that sent her back 843 years in time to the year 1179, in the Middle Ages, during the reign of Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, Kate Mitchell, a wealthy business tycoon in the pharmaceutical industry, a gifted ex-military, a pharmacologist and botanist, and a brilliant archer from 2022, wakes up as Lady Philippa, a pretty, innocent, frail, and proper young lady of House Antioch, with whom she shares nothing in common. She realised she had died on that day, and her soul travels back in time and takes over the body of Philippa, a helpless lady who would face tragedy, betrayal, and scandal before dying young and heartbroken. She chose to live as Philippa because she had a second chance at life and only one goal in mind: to live and survive at any cost. To succeed, she must thrive and learn to live in the Medieval era, where nothing is common for her, and, above all, she must avoid an arranged marriage, which will doom Phillipa to death after a terrible heartbreak. Lady Philippa, unfortunately, is about to be engaged to an unknown man, and she must devise a plan to prevent this from happening. Kate's background as an ex-military officer, pharmacologist, and botanist, as well as her limited knowledge of history, will be invaluable in surviving the historical mediaeval times when modern technology was out of reach. However, she requires the assistance of the reigning king, Baldwin IV, who is suffering from leprosy at the time. She'll have to take control of the situation. It is up to Kate's bravery and intelligence to find a way to persuade Baldwin IV to help her, and she has few options other than joining his royal court. Will the king accept her, or will she perish as the body's original owner? Will she be able to change her destiny? Alternatively, will she be able to find the love and family she seeks?

Twin girls, 12 year olds Reygan and River Johnson are living in Main Street Orphanage that is run by Alexander Arang. How these two unassuming young ladies ended up there is, well, quite an interesting story... They were moved there at the age of 7, but they were not orphaned; Dominika Shores, the mother of the duo, was placed in jail for 14 years after committing crimes; Andy Johnson, father, left for Afghanistan and no one has heard from him. But now, they decide they've had enough, and agree to make a run for it. After only days of planning, they leave on a crisp October evening. A day before the great escape, they meet the Imperial family, the Romanovs when they're all out shopping. This exchange doesn't give them a home- yet. A few days pass- they meet again. The Tsar's daughters, Grand Duchesses Maria and Anastasia prove to be more promising, and quickly take them in to their family, who immediately decide to treat them as their own. But through all the trials and tribulations they have suffered, Reygan and River always kept close to each other, and now have the Romanov family to stay loyal to. A few years later, though, in 2018, their loyalties will be put to the test. In these dark ages in Russia, who can they trust and remain loyal to? Please vote and comment telling me how I can improve my writing! ~Author's note: this story takes place in modern times, and I am fully aware that the ages of the Romanov family are not correct, and for that purpose I'll make a story about the actual Romanovs. I had to do this for story purposes~

The Romanov family was the last imperial dynasty to rule Russia. They first came to power in 1613, and over the next 3 centuries, 18 Romanovs took the Russian throne, including Peter the great, Catherine the great, Alexander 1 and Nicholas 2. During the Russian Revolution of 1917, Bolshevik revolutionaries toppled the monarchy, ending the Romanov dynasty. Czar Nicholas 2 and his entire family - including his young children - were later executed by Bolshevik troops.
