Abigail Brooks was like any other insignificant teenage girl. Her parents had just uprooted her from her small, cozy, hometown of Pemberton, Minnesota. Moving to Portland, Oregon would be an adventure, she convinced herself. Only, she had no idea how much of an adventure it would be. She finds herself intrigued by her new neighbors. Four teenage, Irish brothers who seem to live by themselves. She finds herself most intrigued by the youngest brother, Benjamin, who seems oddly protective of her. Benjamin warns her to keep her distance from him and his family, which only interests her more. But the more secrets she unravels, the more fascinated she becomes. Before she knows it, she's in too deep. A family curse threatens to tear them all apart. Abigail may be the only one who can save them all, herself included. ***********

"10,000 dollars for my arrest. That's what the media says, anyway." He calls her Rusty. She calls him Blue. But Anna Blake is hiding more behind her nickname than anyone knows. She's wanted by the police. For murder. Specifically, the murder of her parents. And she has bigger issues to worry about. She's also on the run from the man who really killed them. A man who has a game to play before he kills her, too. A reckless, on-the-edge criminal. A winsome, small town boy who has a traumatic past of his own. A thrilling chase that changes both of their lives. They are both lost in their own ways, but together maybe they can stand strong again. But secrets have a way of getting out, and the truth is enough to drown her. So for now, she's just going to have to hold her breath. ~~~~~~~ Best ranking: #2 in Mystery/Thriller (8.20.16) [EDITED] [Completed] Copyright © 2016 Kelli Crockett ~~~~~~~ Reader Comments: "I literally live every day to read a couple more chapters of this book! Mia Hastings was never one to follow the rules. Her brother knew it, her best friend knew it. Everyone knew it. She lives for the moment, doing whatever she feels and thinking of the consequences later. Her main goal in life is to live it. Mia’s brother’s best friend Drake O’Connell was never big on rules. The judge who sentences him to 2 years in prison knew it. He is known for being the badboy, partying and womanising. His charm, good looks and obnoxious behaviour made his life pretty easy and his main goal in it was to have fun. He had lost 2 years of his life locked up, so he was determined to make up for lost time. So when these two people are thrown together, both without a care in the world, issues of their own and more secrets than an episode of Pretty Little Liars, you can expect a story full of laughs, tears, arguments and felonies. They might be breaking the law, but both Mia and Drake are about to find out that when it feels wrong, it is ALWAYS more fun. ©makeandoffer
