Ares has crossed a line, line that Apollo could not tolerate being ignored. The fate of the two gods is being decided, and the two of them are the only ones to make the choice of future.
Whether you're reading it before or after reading, you deserve to know what the f is going on, why is everyone angry and why can't Ares do what he had done. If you've already read you are probably confused, if not - lest you get so.
Imagine that the gods do whatever they want with whomever they want - that's what being a god should be, eh?Well, yes. But now imagine that every male divine being goes to a mortal woman and lies her bed, thus making her pregnant. There are thousands of children, children who grow up, who can claim to be of divine heritage. So, our genius Zeus came up with a law that would help with unting that knot. If a god gets someone pregnant (or gets pregnant) and the other parent comes with a claim that they have a child with a devine being, they face the Olympic court. Well, more of a formality meeting than an actual court hearing, but you get what I mean. Then the god can testify and plead whether the kid is theirs or not... You may imagine how many of the gods would lie about it, cheat, say the child is not theirs - just to get the work off of their shoulders. That's where Apollo comes in with his gift of seeing the future and the past, and finds out what the truth is. Most of the time, though, Zeus doesn't botehr asking him - he is satisfied with the divine's statement.
So, now you see. That's what's going on. Now, by all means, enjoy.
All the fckn love,
ALB
