There were no tears left to shed, if there were, she'd probably be crying now. The kind man with the deep voice who'd picked her up off the street gave her hand a gentle squeeze. He turned to her, though she could not see his face through the strange metal mask he wore she felt his comforting gaze. She gripped his hand tightly and quickened her pace to keep up with his long strides. "It's alright, little one, no one will hurt you, ever again." His deep voice calmed her and made her feel safe which wasn't something she had felt for some time. Mesmer smiled to herself as she thought of the night the master had rescued her and given her a new name and new life. He was the only adult who seemed to give a damn about her, the only person in the world who believed her. It had been eight years since then, she was practically a grown up now at age sixteen. The master had been true to his word, no one had ever harmed her and he made sure that no one ever would. He helped her master her quirk, and gave her the tools she needed to get her revenge and keep herself safe.
