It has 3 years since Acel fled his home and disappeared into the wilds of Alkor, a nation utterly torn apart by a 30 years war. It's East falling to internal bandits and it's West under constant enemy attack. The years of living in the harsh and unforgiving wilderness of the West have caused Acel to become cold, jaded, and purely self-interested; or so he thinks. His only wish now is to leave this country far, away from the men of his past that continue to pursue him. Making it halfway across the country he was once again found by the man that drove him to live this life. However, this time Acel will not run. He will take the fight to the tyrant of his life and end his reign once and for all. Maybe then he can finally have his past life back.

One change can uproot life in an instant. Jeffie has never had much reason to worry. Save for maybe Bobby, who's goal in life seems to be torment him and Carmen. But for the most part, he has it pretty good. His family works hard. He has almost all the time in the world to think up his next conspiracy theory. Plus, who doesn't want to be the Best Big Brother to ever walk the earth? Okay so maybe that part isn't true but hey, he gets fresh baked Spaculaas so that's got to count for something right? It isn't until a forest fire burns down everything he once knew, that Jeffie realizes there's a whole world of problems to worry about. Between moving halfway across the world, helping his grieving family recover, and an internal struggle that he has spent half his life ignoring, Jeffie has enough on his plate. But when he meets two new unlikely friends, he has to decide: make the rebuilding of his family's life his responsibility or relearn how to live his own. Told in three unique povs, this is a story of recovery, acceptance, and finding a way back to yourself when everything else feels lost.
