This story was written in 2015 for a high school assignment - we were tasked with writing a piece of fanfiction based on a property of our choosing. My story is based on the popular Elder Scrolls games and chronicles the early years of Goken Dragonspyre the VI: growing up in the Imperial homeland of Cyrodiil, being trained in the art of combat, and eventually making a pilgrimage to his ancestral homeland of Skyrim.

But have we gone too far, too fast? When the planet Mercury started emitting unexplained radiation, the conglomerate Mydas rushed in to claim whatever was waiting to be discovered. Using its vast fortune, Mydas launched a mission to the planet entirely on its own. The team they sent to the surface is not prepared for what they are about to face.
