It was a common misconception that pureblooded children such as the Malfoys were bred from a family that was based solely on hatred. However, that was the farthest from the truth as the eldest of the Malfoy family, Saros, had grown up in a household surrounded by the warmth and love of his parents. He grew up spoiled, holding a sense of entitlement since the time he was young because his parents told him and his little brother, Draco, that they deserved the world. His parents had given Saros no reason not to believe and trust in their word, they gave him no reason for him not to love them, which made the internal battle turn into an all-out war when it came to choosing what side was right and which one was wrong. Saros learns that good and evil is not so black and white when living in a grey world. He will do anything to protect his family, even if it means making the wrong decisions in their eyes. Normally, Angelina Johnson wouldn't even bother with the likes of Saros Malfoy, after all, she has her own life to tend to and she knows the type of person that he is. Spoiled and entitled don't interest the girl, however, there is a moment, where she is a witness to something beyond the typical Malfoy air, a time where Saros shows that he is human and maybe Angelina's got it all wrong about the boy.

With the exception of Mirabella Plunkett in the 1800s, the idea of merfolk and wizarding kind mingling together was unheard of, and otherwise, considered to be taboo. Born to a mermaid and wizard, Nixie Dover is believed to be the first of her kind, half-landish, half-seavish. The morning of her birth, things go awry when her mother is suddenly taken away and forced into exile by seavish matriarchy, leaving her to be raised by her father alone on land. For the next eleven years, Nixie is raised as a witch, however, life is far from simple. For as long as she can remember, the waters outside of her home call to her. Her father seems drawn to the waves as well, staring at them every morning as if he is waiting for someone. However, the answers start to unravel when her mother reappears and reveals herself to be a mermaid. Suddenly, the stares and whispers that Nixie has heard throughout her childhood make sense. She is a half-breed, stuck between two worlds where she feels like an outsider. To add to the chaos, Nixie receives her acceptance letter to none other than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Determined to blend in and hopefully make some friends, Nixie attempts to hide her lineage, but she can only hide who she really is for so long. Especially when a boy by the name of Sirius Black seems so utterly determined to be part of her world. Initially, Nixie believes him to be nothing but trouble, but as time progresses, he proves to be much more than a troublemaker. Together, they must face the hardships of growing up, fighting for what they believe in, and hopefully, surviving a war. [Book 1 of Nixie Dover] [Companion book to Tightly Knit] [Cover by cendriia]

Book 1 in the Screams Trilogy Calliope Doge doesn't speak. This is a fact that the entirety of Hogwarts knows full well. She doesn't answer the questions that teachers ask in lessons, she doesn't speak to people over dinner in the great hall and she does not speak to people at weekends. No one knows the reasoning behind Calliope's silence, no one knows the guilt that she carries with her every day. Because the reason Calliope Doge does not speak is that her voice has power. The power to kill. Just like it killed her father. 'Calliope's head felt like it was about to explode-she sat bolt right up in bed and let out a loud, ear-splitting, soul-shaking scream that seemed to penetrate every inch of the castle.' 'Through the darkness to the dawn And when I looked back you were gone Heard your voice leading me on Through the darkness to the dawn' -Nobody Knows by The Lumineers Disclaimer: Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or any of the characters from the original series.
