Vader time travels to Anakin's body on the Invisible Hand, while Anakin time travels to Vader's body after the assault on Hoth, in his search for Luke. Both of them only have a week in the future and past respectively, a week for them to see what could have been and what they can do to change it before they're out of time.

After leaving Vader a second time, Obi-Wan is given, and takes, the chance to travel to the past to fix his mistakes. He hopes it will be easy. It's not. As the galaxy around him spirals out of control a second time, Obi-Wan captures a newly Fallen Darth Vader and runs away with him. Even if he can't save Anakin, at least he can stop Vader from terrorizing the galaxy again.

Anakin refuses to leave his mother behind in slavery if she'll never be freed. Qui-Gon never comes back, but Obi-Wan does. When he does, he's... different. Darker. Fallen. Even so, he carries through with his unspoken promise to train Anakin, though the boy will never become a Jedi. Perhaps that means Anakin will be able to fulfill his childhood dream of freeing the slaves.

Ahsoka died on Mortis, and Anakin doesn't know how to move on. Except Ahsoka isn't dead. She's still alive on Mortis, having taken up the mantle of the Daughter to preserve the balance, regardless of what she actually wants. And when Anakin remembers, nothing can stop him from going back for her, no matter the cost.
