When it's finally time for Alyssa to choose, she follows both her heart and her brother's footsteps, and she chooses Dauntless. Not only does she end up reunited with her brother, but she also must face the young man who she once shared an impassioned night with-the same young man who unintentionally ended up breaking her heart. Is it possible that a year's time apart changed the feelings they once had for one another? Will they, by some miracle, at least be able to restore the friendship they once had?
