"No-please-don't do this!" Seraphina sobbed, her voice cracking as she clung to her eldest brother's wrist. "I-I'll be good. I'll do whatever you say, just don't-" A sharp crack echoed through the room as his palm struck her cheek, sending her crashing to the marble floor. Pain exploded across her skin, but it was nothing compared to the terror clawing at her chest. From above, his voice was cold. Unmoved. "You will marry him." She shook her head wildly, crawling backward until her spine hit the wall. "He's a monster," she whispered, her breath shuddering. "He's not human. Please, don't make me do this. I'll die." Her second brother crouched in front of her, grabbing her chin roughly, forcing her to look at him. His lips curled, eyes void of warmth. "Then die." Her breath hitched. "But you will die as his wife." The door behind them creaked open. Heavy footsteps. Her father stepped inside, his expression unreadable. "Lock her in this room," he ordered. "She will not step out until her wedding day." Sera thrashed as hands seized her, dragging her toward the massive iron doors. "No! Please-Father, please!" But he didn't even look at her. The last thing she saw before the door slammed shut was her brothers standing side by side, indifferent as she was thrown into a fate worse than death. Then darkness. And the only thing left was the suffocating truth. She was a sacrifice. A bride to the Sinister, a devil himself. #A STANDALONE BOOK

We tend to examine where we've gone wrong, what we've achieved, and what lessons we might have think we've learned. Some might even hope that by looking back, we can prevent ourselves from repeating the mistakes of the past. Yet... we contradict ourselves, giving rise to the familiar adage: history repeats itself. For centuries, two souls have been ensnared by a curse. Fates entwined in ways neither can escape. One must always betray. One must always kill. The Order has long hunted these two souls, for theirs is the only altered DNA capable of powering an ancient relic, which is an artifact born of an even older tale: the story of The River. And when these cursed souls meet again, unaware of the history they've shared, the cycle begins anew. Old wounds ache with fresh pain. Trust dissolves like smoke. Passion flares into pure chaos, threatening to consume them both. He's the curse. 𝘚𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘺. Copyright © 2024. All Rights Reserved. It wasn't how she could never seem to pronounce his name, "Qasim," correctly, always calling him "Kasim" since she was young. Nor was it her innocence, which seemed to follow her everywhere, highlighted by her delicate Fulani features that could be recognized from miles away. It was her, entirely. Her very existence was the axis upon which Amir Qasim's life revolved. But when that axis was removed, his world was thrown into chaos. Being born the eldest child of the Sultan wasn't his choice, nor was becoming the next Sultan, burdened with immense responsibilities. Yet he accepted it, carrying those duties he so deeply resented. Becoming the next Sultan's wife wasn't her choice either, nor was becoming the eldest Princess of the Kubi Caliphate. So why was she forced to bear the brunt of the grudge he harbored within? Why did she have to endure the short end of the stick? From the moment she stepped into the world of royalty, she knew the path would be hard-fought. But she wasn't willing to lose. Why should she? She harbors the same hatred towards him. However, there is a saying, "The more you hate, the more you love." By Ferdeausee.
