In a world where all magic is outlawed, finding a magic user is a hard thing to do. Being one is so much harder, with authorities who would hunt you down untill they kill you and no-one you can trust, how could a magic user hope to survive? Hermitcraft is a hidden safe-space, where magic users can hide from the authorities, the outside world, in a family of other magic users, but it's impossible to find without being brought there, so many magic users could never hope for salvation, since they don't know it exists. Something strange begins to happen to Grian, and he leaves the Island for information. But of course, his fellow Hermits have to come rescue him. He spends some time recovering and thinks it's all in the past. But after accidentally poisoning Mumbo, Grian discoveres the story isn't quite over yet.

There will be torture involved in this and also mentions of abuse and similar stuff to that, so if you don't like that then don't read this. And those are all the warnings I can think of right now Grian wakes up in a superflat world set to night with a red moon shining over him, he has no idea how he got her but he has a strange pull to build random things. Back at Hermitcraft everyone is wondering where the builders gone. And who are these Evolutionists that suddenly appeared claiming to be Grian's friends?
