The year is 1900 and Andy Moreno is on his annual summer vacation at The Beach Hotel with his mom, sister, and best friend Aurora Knight. This is their last week of the break, so it's only natural their mom goes all out in terms of accommodation, entertainment, and luxury. On their first day of their trip , they visit the bustling docks and shops. While they are there they notice how different it has become. The old restaurant, The Little Place, where they used to eat at was replaced with some new place called Woody's and other stores and restaurants were also gone, out of business, or bought by some company called Washington Artillery Value and Express or W.A.V.E for short. As they snoop around the buildings looking for clues on who the new buyer is, they find small drawings on some of the walls of the Gresham House, which was also just recently built and bought. Later that day, the family notices that the tide is much higher than normal but shrug it off as just another high tide. Finally, after a long day of playing, walking, and shopping, the kids return to The Beach Hotel for their last night of safety.
