The year is 1973. Life is normal on the Island of Sodor. Contracts were being made, and buildings being built. A nuclear power-plant on the Brendam had been built, but after that... all hell broke loose.

After Tweak and Kwazii have a little dispute about who does the most challenging role in the crew, Captain Barnacles decides it would be good for everyone to try out something a little different for a few days, and switches everyone's Octonaut jobs around. But can they still manage to save the day when the whole crew is called into action on multiple missions - and in each other's roles?

The Octonauts have a secret. It's such a big secret, even they don't know what it is. Until it comes for them. Tweak's family, for generations, has been made of supers. Even she didn't know about it, not until her teen years. Peso has grown up not knowing the same thing about his own family! But they, their friends, and Tweak's newfound siblings are in trouble. Rochelle, the new Octonaut, has a lot to learn. She isn't shy when it comes to her new friends, (besides, she has already met them a bit before becoming an Octonaut, and she's old friends with Tweak.). She gets a great head start on the friendships between them, and even starts to develop feelings for the soft spoken medic, Peso. Peso starts to grow fond of the newcomer as well. However... tensions start to rise when Kwazii starts to have feelings for Rochelle too. Will this tear the Octonauts apart?
