The thing about war is that perspective matters. One person's revolution could be an empire's downfall. The thing about war is that it consumes everything around you and becomes your entire life, and then, it all comes crashing when it finishes. War takes everything from you. It beats you down, breaking you ever so slightly, an erosion of your life, wearing down on you, and when you finally build yourself up, it's like you're a new person. War can break you. I should know. I've been in two. There were multiple turning points in my life. Finding out I was a Demigod, me coming out of the closet, asking out my best friend, etc. But the biggest one was probably when the war with Dirtface was finally over, and I thought that Annabeth and I could finally settle down. That the Seven could get apartments in New Rome, and Annabeth, Frank, and I would go to university, get jobs, and be happy! I thought we had it all planned out. That's when I saw her. My Wise Girl, my best friend, spread out on the ground before me. Blood covering the black athletic leggings she loved, dark stains on an even darker background. Annabeth was dying. Not dead yet, but dying. By the time Apollo had come to help him.... she was... "Dead? She's dead? No! She can't be dead! Wise Girl! Can't you do anything to save her?" My eyes were frantically scanning the people in front of me for something, anything that could help her. "Please don't leave me!" I cried, tears slowly dripping down my face. But it did nothing. Annabeth, my one love, was dead, and I could do nothing to save her (she's lesbian in this because why not) -- All rights to Uncle Rick and J.K. Rowling Very slow updates
