"If you give thanks I will increase you" Quran 14:7 _________ One thing about life is certain, it is unpredictable. No one ever knows what events will unfold the next morning. No one knows what the next chapter has in store for them. But no matter what life has to offer, in it there is always a great blessing only if we look for it with an open mind. This is a story of a family who have been leading a fulfilling life. The Maliks lived a life full of fortune. An average person could only wish for such fortune for himself. But like everything else in life, the fortune proved to be temporary. Their life turned upside down in the blink of an eye. They were forced to let go of their most basic luxuries. Times got so tough that the future started seeming bleak. It got harder to hold on especially for their eldest, Manal Malik. Keep reading to find out how events unfold for this family and how they learn to adopt gratitude as a life style. ______ Al-Qurtubi reported: Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, heard a man saying, "O Allah, make me among the few." Umar said, "What is this supplication?" The man said, "I refer to the saying of Allah the Exalted: And few of my servants are grateful." (34:13) Umar said, "All of the people know better than you, O Umar!" Source: Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī 34:13
