It was dark out. It was dangerous, and there was a terrified victim who needed saving every time he turned around. There was no money, and there was fame, no cameras. Just the whispers, the rumors, the conspiracies. Which meant, of course, that there were no heroes. Izuku was alone. Really, he'd been alone for years, ever since he learned he had no quirk. Now, though, he couldn't bring himself to follow after Bakugo's back, bravely proclaiming his goal to the world and facing the scorn with determination. Because he knew now, for an inescapable fact, that he didn't want to be a hero. Heroism, after all, is what got his mother killed. The event awakened something in him, something that might have been a quirk. His obsession with quirk analysis and heroes, after all, was not normal. But, heroism as a profession had its limits. All he had ever wanted was to save people, help them however he can. And sometimes, he'd found, the law just got in the way. He didn't hate the laws, or the police force that enforced it, but he now understood very personally there was no "one size fits all" set of rules when it came to suffering. In name, he supposed, he'd become a villain. He found he didn't care. Because in practice, he saved lives, he stopped the suffering of those who needed him, and he was there when no one else could be. And that's what makes a hero, no matter what anyone else tells him.

Jack - Jack what? For the life of him, he couldn't remember; his last name, his past, nothing. The only thing he could remember is his first name and that he had a purpose, but even that was fading fast. Just so you all know, I wrote the first chapter BEFORE Rise of the Guardians came out. If you happen to see any similarities... it all came from me...😏😉 If you intend on commenting, do not use swear words, thank you!

Starlites are impossible to love. The human fell in love anyways. There is an age old story - some call it a myth, some believe it to be history. Nevertheless, the fact is that there exist three different species who look alike. First are the underwater dwellers - the nymphs. The myth says that they are cursed never to find love. They are all females and mate with humans. The humans die immediately afterwards. Second are the starlites. They live among the highest mountain peaks unreachable for humans. They can fly, and their hearts are cold as snow. They are cursed never to feel love or get loved by anyone. The third is the human race. Humans can feel love, get love, cherish it and are hence considered worthy to rule them all. The story revolves around a starlite soldier Sophia Antofurota who leaves the army to join the Guardians. The Guardians are a team of starlites who work for the humans. Neal is a manipulative, scheming human prince who offered the job to Sophia only because he is in love with her. Sophia gradually finds out that the royalty is hiding many secrets but never suspects that she can have any part to play in their schemes. Sophie's character drawing by @Lady-Emerald

His tribe, however, has made him an outcast for a horrible mistake he made when he was just a little boy. Lonely and desperate, Destan makes another mistake a decade later. By showing himself to Julia and her adoptive family of Inops, he makes himself a target - and by doing so, he makes his tribe a target.
