In a world where what quirk you were given at birth dictates your life forever, Izuku was part of the rare 20% to not be born with one at all, dubbed with the title of "quirkless". His mother, flawed as she may, refused to let her son feel down or low, deciding to drill into his mind that just because he wasn't like everybody else, it didn't matter. All he needed to do was work harder than everybody else, and he could be just as good, if not better. Izuku was confident, excited, and hardly put down by his condition after his mother made her support known, and vowed to become the world's greatest hero, even without a quirk! With the support of his mother, and best friend, he would become stronger than ever-! ...No. That's what you want to hear, but we aren't here to lie, are we? This would only be the start of his never ending journey of anger, as he would someday come to realize, and as you will to. This is his story of near eternal despair. Before heroes became a part of everyday life, before superpowers became the new normal, before quirks, there were unexplained supernatural occurrences. Psychics capable of predicting events they couldn't have known about. Medical miracles that some people believed were magic or acts of god, for they couldn't be explained any other way. These things have been forgotten by time or written off as earlier examples of quirk users, because anything supernatural can be chalked up to a quirk right? Quirkless Izuku Midoriya isn't so sure and he's determined to see if there's any truth to the legends and the stories of the past.
