The fact that none of his neighbors know he exists, that he sleeps in a cupboard, even that his parents are dead, is not the end, nor the worst of it. No, the worst, is his uncle. The reason he doesn't speak, look at anyone, barely even breathe. Each night, he hopes for someone to come and save him, but they never come. No matter how hard he wishes, how hard he hopes, it seems he will be stuck there forever, or until his slow, agonizing march to death ends. One night, after hoping and hoping, he starts to realize he will never get saved, helped, even comforted, for his entire life. Drarry. Harry and Draco return to Hogwarts for their eighth year. Their rivalry seems to have fallen apart, and perhaps, with the help of a ball, and not-so-unfortunate rooming circumstances, that fractured rivalry will turn into something new.

In which Harry Potter has twenty-five days to gather the courage to tell Draco Malfoy he loves him. This, of course, includes all of the cheesiest, cutest tropes I can put in, including Truth or Dare, mittens, pink noses from the cold, snowflakes, walks in Hogsmeade in the snow, snowball fights, and, of course, enchanted mistletoe.

Sometimes a witch or wizards magical signature is so completely incompatible with another that they repel one another like magnets. On the other hand, if two magical signatures mesh well together, well there are no stronger relationships in all the world. In a sample of a thousand people, the average witch or wizard will be slightly repelled by four or five people and strongly repelled by only one, at the most. The opposite is true for attraction. Draco and Harry had been together since year 3 but when Harry suddenly disappears after killing the dark lord, Draco waits. After 7 years Draco losses hope, until a stranger knocked on his door.

Draco starts his first year of Hogwarts as an orphan. his parents fled the country, leaving him on the doorstep of an orphanage. They would have taken him along, but he was just a burden to them. You see, Draco was deaf. No one bothered to get to know the poor boy, it was too troublesome to learn sign language. That is, until one Harry Potter offers to sit by him on the train in fifth year. Learning that the boy cannot hear, they write notes the rest of the trip. Harry soon becomes determined to be the boy's best friend.

Junior Auror Potter runs errands, takes witness interviews, does paperwork, and gets the coffee. Rarely, very rarely, he's sent out on the most routine calls, such as when Draco Malfoy misses a meeting with his parole officer. (Inspired by the song Nobody by Mitski)
