Some people attribute the word to meaning the story is a fanfiction, but that would be a One-Shot fanfic, not a One-Shot. In simple terms, a one-shot is a short piece, whether it be a single photo or a single story, that sticks to one subject and has no chapters, no volumes and no sequels. (I'd like to point out now that even though it says above that a One-Shot doesn't have sequels or other chapters, that doesn't mean certain stories of mine won't become standalone novels or series' in the future. The Black Moon series will include five books for now (there might be more in the future if inspiration is still around) and they all recount the stories of four childhood friends who are Dominants in a BDSM club in Chicago, as well as their Submissives.
