Cold hearted and ruthless, Amber McKinely knows how to kill a man within three seconds, create explosives, and best anyone with any type of weapon. She had lost everything at the age of five: her home, her family, and her faith in people. Broken on the inside, she remains as a rogue, keeping her wolf, powers, and darkest secrets to herself. Amber promised to herself never trust again - to never allow another within her heart and soul. However, this all changes as she is exposed to a glimpse of a chance at having a happy life, a life which involves having a mate. Things go from bad to worse as a malicious evil reemerges from Amber's past to haunt her yet again. Nothing is as cut and clear as it is pictured to be. What may seem to be true may very well be a lie. As some of her deepest fears from her past resurface, Amber must decide between confronting her demons and preventing a repeat of her past, or keeping her secluded, private life. Will Amber take the chance to heal and recover her past scars? Or will she remain broken forever?
