I glared up at him my eyes narrowed, "Excuse me?" I was beyond livid by the words that just came out of his mouth. My glare didn't falter when Parker towered over me, clenching his jaw while trapping me against his desk. "You heard me." Parker's voice was low and intimidating that it made me feel so small. But I wasn't going to let him get to me. Standing up taller, I snapped, "I will not be your personal toy, available for you to do just as you please! I do not want to be held captive against my will, and not even have a say in anything. To be honest, I don't even want a mate." "You will do everything and anything I say, do you hear me?" Parker growled grabbing my chin and forcing me to look at him. Without even thinking I said the first thing that came to my head but meant every word. 🌟🌟🌟🌟Prologue 🌟🌟🌟 "Do you know what is a night howl?" She stares, dumb struck by the elder she wolf's word. "No matter" the wolf replied walking around the little room placing a hand on her shoulder. "You'll learn, after all you might just need it one day" *** Thousands of years ago one group of people lived. Wolves. WEREwolves. Not NORMAL everyday werewolves taught by humans to their little children as scary bed time stories, who were harmed by silver and ripped people to shreds mercilessly for no apparent reason. In fact while these people knew about humans they pitied their existence. Building high walls to protect themselves from the unknown, from things they did not understand, corrupting and fighting against themselves to get ahead. They were not like anything they humans knew or taught themselves to believe. But even then one thing still remained true. They had a code, a system of rules that bound them to never step outside the boundary that kept their own reality from being revealed to the humans, that is until that terrible war that split this once harmonious group into two secs: the Wilds and the Regals. Wilds became the outcasts, inhabiting only the deep forests and only ever rarely seen by regals. While Regals, themselves lived within the walls built like humans, lived almost indefinitely like humans. Some say they might have forgotten how to shift. Now there is a new law between the groups: the coming together of a regal and wild is an offense by exile. But even then, there's always something much more sinister waiting in the darkness........not every wrong is really a wong.......... And mirrors make things look closer than they appear. *cover was done by my lovely friend, can't thank her enough @LittleRedConverse23, she's really great and so is her work, so go check her out😍* #Thesparklingawards #spiceoffawards #thebuttercupawards2020 #RoseAwards #fangheartawards2020

A wholesome love-at-first sight werewolf story where the mate isn't an Alpha, and they actually want to be together. Life as a rogue isn't easy, especially for a runt living in No Man's Land. Jade has gained an impressive set of skills over the years, such as evading ferals, camouflaging her scent, and sniffing out expensive truffles, but few packs want to accept a runt. When she finally gets invited into a pack, she picks up an irresistible scent. Her soulmate. Jade must decide if she's willing to grasp what is likely her only chance at unconditional love - or flee in case her potential mate rejects her and shatters her heart forever. ---- Excerpt: My steps faltered as I noticed that two of the pursuing wolves had sped ahead and were waiting to intercept me. I launched toward a tree and ricocheted off at a ninety-degree angle without slowing down. One of the wolves behind quickly followed and began closing in. I started to panic, looking around frantically for a way to escape. I saw a rabbit burrow under a small bramble bush and desperately raced towards it. I darted under the edge of the plant and heard the tan wolf go around as he expected me to come out the other side. It gave me the precious seconds I needed to squeeze down the tunnel. My relief was short-lived - the rabbit that dug this burrow had not survived long enough to finish it. The tunnel was only about twice as long as the average human arm, and I could clearly see the entrance. I sent a silent prayer that the bramble bush would deter them and that they would not realize just how shallow this burrow was. I waited anxiously.
