Inko became an alcoholic and was a severely homophobic mother to the point where she would beat Deku for hours when she felt like it. One week, Midoriya's mother had stopped feeding him and if he tried to eat something he would get locked in his room and beaten. On Friday the fatigue, abuse and malnourishment finally got to him and he passed out during hero training.
