Diego Martinez, the older brother of David Martinez, was a dropout of Arasaka Academy after hanging with the wrong crowd and eventually joining a mercenary group called the Edgerunners, where he earned the respect of one Lucyna Kushinada, Maine, Kiwi, and Dorio, while being allowed to do his own thing. During their time together, they start to know each other and try to have a partnership with jobs that they would have, but Lucy starts to have feelings for Diego after a few years of friendship and how he admiringly put his family first over the crew.
