My Immortal, something many claim as the first modern fanfiction published onto the internet. Oddly enough, this trainwreck of a story has an author whose identity remains a secret to this day. My Immortal follows the adventures of Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way in the gothic alternate universe of Harry Potter, so in many respects, My Immortal is also the first instance of AUs being introduced into established works. Originally posted on Fanfiction.net 2006-2007, the story was once taken down, only to be brought back from the dead by a user named: xXMidnightEssenceXx on the same website. Which then reignited the internet in a fiery explosion of parodies, serious book readings and much more. The story ended as mysteriously as it had begun and is considered an example of what NOT to do when you're writing fanfiction.

I promise you, there is light in this dark world, if only you know where to look. My tale is one of magic and wonder, of evil and justice-of power and servitude. But it is also a story of sacrifice and suffering. There are great feats of courage and and malicious acts of deception. But there is also the quiet heroism of one good deed and the unpraised comfort of one loving heart. #1 in Adventure 04/09/2019 #1 in Adventure 01/29/2021 #2 in Action 05/15/2022 #2 in Action 6/21/2024
