After coming back from Uganda, Connor McKinley and Kevin Price now live in an apartment together. However, Kevin's parents decide to drop a visit. Kevin, still not openly gay to his parents and afraid to come out, and his boyfriend Connor try to trick his family into believing they are just roommates.

When Connor begins to doubt his own sexuality and his own faith, he relies on Kevin to help him through his trying times.

Though Kevin can speak and Be easily understood... he can't understand others as well because he can't read lips. Conner is the only person who can help him understand. . . this is a short fic about Kevin Hearing for the first time.

Kevin didn't want this to happen, except he wasn't sure if he'd wish for anything else. Besides, no worries, maybe not all is lost. He could go home after this, save money to go to college and get a job, then marry some girl his family welcomes with open arms. At least everyone might still be proud of him, then, and his failed mission could be all but a bittersweet memory of his young adulthood. It was all securely mapped out, which means everything will be fine, right?
