Don't mind this. Its just an idea I've had since the 6th grade. Prepare for chaos and poor explanations

Humanity had been safe for centuries. We had wiped out the dragons that used to roam our planet, and everything had been going well since then. But unfortunately, dragons aren't quite dead, at least, not all of them are. Dragons are excellent sources of energy, and we knew that. So, we've been harvesting their energy ever since they went "extinct". However, things aren't safe anymore. Three teens have decided to make it their personal mission to save the remaining dragons, willing to do whatever it takes.

Written for a writing contest, short story written with the prompt, "Cycle." :) Enjoy!
