Summary || Plot "I was warned about boys like you." Folding her arms Moenice was getting hot under the stare of Theo's beautiful brown eyes. "Oh yeah. What exactly were you warned about?" Taking a step closer, Theo knew what he was doing, he knew how he made Moenice feel. "All boys just want one thing, they come sniffing, begging, chasing after it." Moenice wasn't about to let Theo see the real her. To her he was just like the other brothers around here, feening for something that could easily fuck up both lives. "Good thing I'm a grown. Ass. Man." Grabbing her face, he spoke slowly against her lips. He kept one hand around her waist and the other tilting her head back. "And this grown ass man ain't with that little boy shit." Trying to catch her breath Moenice was almost under his control, she knew what he was doing and knew just how to fight back. "Show me." Slowly pulling his hand off her face she whispered in his ear nibbling on his earlobe to arouse him. "Actions speak volume Theo." Closing her door quietly she leaned against it. Theo was absolutely no good for a good girl like Moenice, but she seemed to be breaking all the rules anyway. ~*~*~*~* Welcome to Brownsville NY. You got your Gang bangers, drug dealers, Crack heads, and a few loving people that actually want to make it some place. Coming up around here someone was always getting in trouble, or killed. As her 18th birthday approaches, life as Moenice knows it changes and breaking all the rules is exactly what she has to do. Love wasn't what either expected, but can love be enough to save both their lives, from a world full of hate and Crime?

It's 2030 and the main threat has been neutralized in the dispute between Iraq and the US. After regaining control, thousands of troops are sent home for a job well done in serving our great nation. Among the crowd is a "mute" 23 year-old Montrell St. John, a New Orleans native who is seeking to return home after 5 straight years in the service. Looking forward to going home, he missed the smell of the Bayou, the taste of his mom's famous Gumbo, and in general the people who allowed him into their hearts when he was a 6 year-old orphan. As an orphan from France, he never really adapted to the American language, causing him to be mute 90% of the time and seen differently in the eyes of many. That percentage reduces to 70% depending on who's he's talking to however. It's no wonder he's elated to be finally going home to the people who understand him the most even without one flick of the tongue. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for his adoptive Haitian family during those five years and Montrell's homecoming couldn't have come at a worse time. Will the army vet get sucked into the tension? How has things changed? How will it resolve? This is NOLA. (New Orleans, LA)
