His dreams of Lifeguarding dangerous breaks of Sunset Beach have been reduced to guarding the kiddie pool at the local Plunge, colloquially known as "The Toilet Bowl". So with no beach, no waves, no surf and no life, he is just counting the days until he can finally get back home to the place where he belongs. But both Maybe and Darren will learn the hard way, that sometimes the person you least expect to meet is the one you need the most. And the twists of fate that happen when you're not looking out, are the ties that bind you ...for better or worse. Nestled in the Chicago suburbs rested the small, one school town of LaginaWood. A sleepy little city where teenagers drink, date, party, and hopefully study. Where citizens hail the Cubs without much reason, high school football is practically a religion--though is more often than not outdone by the annual school musical--and the occasional alpaca farm isn't a surprising sight. In fact, nothing came as a surprise to people of LaginaWood. Not the outcome of the 2016 World Series, not the casting of the latest musical, not the quarterback's numerous scholarship offers, and not the enrollment of new student, Cate Vadim. However, no one expected the thickening shadows gathering in corners, or the chill creeping through the town. Not even Cate. But she contended with it long ago, and she knows it'll only get worse. The shadows will only grow thicker, the air will only get colder. Unless she can stop it. Third Place Fantasy Winner of the Galactic Awards

"I am so sorry for not listening," she sobbed, tears escaping onto her cheeks. Dylan looked into her eyes. Then he whispered, "You never have to be sorry." He slowly tilted his head, and kissed away her tears. Her heart fluttered in her chest, and for one second she let her tears flow. If he kissed away every one of her tears, she wouldn't mind crying. His lips felt like flowers, so soft they took her breath away. When her tears stopped, he continued to kiss her cheek, slowly inching his way towards her lips. It was nothing short of pure bliss. *** After being falsely accused of killing his family, Dylan Robinson is on every America's Most Wanted list. However, trying to tell law enforcement that he had been framed by one of the world's most powerful mafia's is not necessarily easy. So, he lives his life in strict confinement, afraid of his own shadow. Then he meets Kia Brown, the woman who burned his world into ashes. Kia Brown, a 26 year old lawyer, is reeling. Dealing with an abusive father seems to be the majority of her problems. That is until she learns that her father is part of a mafia; the same one who killed Dylan's family. Even worse, Kia cannot seem to stop herself from trying to prove Dylan's innocence, which only makes the mafia after Dylan more angry. It was the perfect love story; a frightened man bonding with a broken woman. BUT there is one exception. Dylan can't fall in love with Kia; falling for her would put her in grave danger. Will the two lovers be strong enough to stop the threat against them or will they fight the love igniting in them?
