These documents are draft transcriptions of the documents relating to the Templars' property in Norfolk and Suffolk which are preserved at Kew: The National Archives of the UK. There is an inventory of the Templars' property dating from 10 November 1310 preserved at TNA E 142/112. There are also accounts for these properties at TNA: E 358/18 rots 3 and 38, and E 358/20 rots 11, 24 and 44. In addition, there is a statement from the sheriff regarding the debts due to the Templars. The documents in the National Archives are covered by an Open Government Licence for public sector information, which allows everyone to copy, publish, distribute and transmit the documents in their archives: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/ ... However, this transcription of the documents is copyright Helen J. Nicholson. The original documents are written in a mixture of medieval Latin and Middle English. Each record is highly abbreviated, with many letters left out. These abbreviations would have been easily understood by contemporaries, but modern readers -- even those familiar with medieval Latin -- find the abbreviations difficult to decipher. So I have inserted most of the missing letters into the transcription: these letters are in square brackets [like this]. I have transcribed each line of each document separately -- this makes it easier to match the transcription back to the original documents (for those who look at the original documents). The cover photo is of Wymondham abbey in Norfolk, which is not connected to the Templars but illustrates the region.
