Jack Graham also known as Ciphersyntax or affectionately as Cipher, is one of the few top-tier PvP players of the game known as YGGDRASIL. However, despite being this, the game was merely therapy for him as it kept his mind off of his deceased younger sister who died tragically in front of him. So killing other players in duels and raids slowly lost its appeal and roleplaying became an allure to him as an another escape from reality. Jack met Suzuki Satoru at his place of business and eventually the two of them bonded. Learning they both played YGGDRASIL, Suzuki invited the guildless Jack to the Guild known as Ainz Ooal Gown. It had been years since then and he had become an integral member of the Forty One Supreme Beings in the Heteromorphic Guild. Ciphersynatx was widely referred to as The Great Devourer, or the All-Consumer, due to his main super-tier spell called Assimilation which allowed him to absorb NPCs and Players within a certain level range to himself to gain additional attributes, spells, skills and jobs. As the end days of YGGDRASIL came nearer and the other members of the Guild began to quit. It was eventually only down to Momonga and Cipher in the end, neither wanting to part from this virtual reality.

In a reality without Peter Parker, seventeen year old Gwen Stacy attends to Midtown High, a school located in the Queens of New York, with her new neighbor Jack Baker who moved in last summer. Jack was born at the end of August in the year 2002. He had a knack for drawing, painting and even photography. However what he was even better at doing was using guns, knives and various other items of the same nature. Despite these hobbies and capabilities, he is socially awkward and often left out. He has a cool and aloof exterior and doesn't let many people in. He doesn't appear to be capable of expressing grand excitement or extreme enthusiasm. While he is bullied by Eugene "Flash" Thompson, most of his friends are females. They tend to flock to him, simply to talk because they know he'll listen and if asked, he will give advice. He is a keeper of secrets, and while he has an empathic mind, he has an apathetic exterior. He can easily read emotions and know how an individual feels, allowing him the greatest insight in the aspect of Manipulation. After Gwen Stacy is bitten by a Radioactive Spider... He begins to notice her sudden change in behavior, and things get a bit weird when her hands get awkwardly stuck to his face.
