The beat of wings in the crisp morning air hits the ears of a being with large, beautiful, outstretched wings. To us, and angel; she rises from her bed. Stretching out her messy wings and her thin arms, she leaps from her slumber and rushes out the door. The light hits her eyes, and as they come to focus, the world opens up to her. The cloudy terrain surrounding her looked endless, swaths of white that hung overhead or loomed below. It was as if the world sparkled, and everything glowed. Uroda and Stracony have always been friends, and have always lived in the Sokol sector. Those have been constants for their entire lives. Uroda wished it wasn't. At least, the living with the Sokol and being banned from the ground- it was so much more colorful than clouds after clouds!- had always bothered her. She itched to explore the world; see the other sectors she only read about; find people that wouldn't point out her ugly wings so often; find her purpose in life! If, of course, her parents would stop nagging her. Also... if Stracony ever agreed to leave with her. He was always timid, and wasn't fond of her 'dangerous' and 'ridiculous' plans. He'd show him, she'd escape to the world and bring back something incredible so that he'd HAVE to come! The problem was getting there... Stracony, however, was fine staying where she was; close to the stars and oblivious to the world below. He liked it that way, and did NOT want to be dragged into another one of Uroda's schemes. Last time he did, he wasn't allowed to leave the castle for at least a week. If he had to scrub another dish, he'd be seriously upset. Little do they know, they were about to be thrown into an adventure which would change their friendship and world forever. It was only a matter of time before the beasts of below breached through.
