A very popular AU within Fairy Tail Origins is the Dragon Pact AU, where the dragon slayers have this pact that basically makes them have a brother/sibling/family bond (it's more complicated then that but you'll get it). At first I didn't really like it but honestly I really DO like it now, and I know a lot of other people who do too, so why not give it it's own book?
