When Arthur finds out about Merlins magic during a bandit attack, Arthur banishes him from Camelot. After that, Merlin has no home to go to. For a while, he travels and lives in caves. He barely gets anything to eat. Then he stumbles on an old castle. In the castle there is the recipe for a potion to turn into a wolf. Merlin makes it, but he makes a mistake. Meanwhile, Arthur is going crazy without Merlin. A few days after Merlin's banishment, he sends out a search party for Merlin, regretting banishing him. After a weeks of searching, they still have not found Merlin. To distract himself, Arthur decides to go hunting. What will happen when he sees am indigo wolf with too familiar eyes during his hunt? The young Prince felt the nausea from the previous night return as he was situated behind the executioner's stage, a pyre set with a stake in the centre. He tried his very best not to remember that Merlin would be mounted upon that very stake in moments, a fire ablaze beneath him...

Merlin botched up a spell he was working on. He decided to make a potion without the help of Giaus. Messing up the pronunciation of one word and a healing potion becomes a truth syrum. Three days of nothing but the truth. Any question he's asked, the truth will come out. "What are you hiding from me?" No matter how hard Merlin tried, he couldn't stop his voice from speaking. They invite him in the hopes that Arthur and Merlin will fall in love and their betrothal to bring the two kingdoms together will finally be fulfilled. There's only one problem...Arthur and Merlin don't know about the betrothal.

When Morgana captures Merlin in her hovel she curses him. Her plan is to make him kill Arthur, but when she realises who Merlin really is, her wishes to kill Arthur pales. Now she just have to make Arthur kill Merlin. (Takes place in the episode "A Servant of Two Masters")
