"You save yourself or you remain unsaved." - Alice Sebold. °°° Florence Rosa Brine - this is her story. It's a sad one, to be honest. Her version of events is one that would surprise even those who think they knew everything about her. After a series of incidents that had emotionally and physically scarred her, Flo fled from her hometown to live with her father in Australia and changed everything about herself that made her, her. But when she realises that the only way forward is to face her demons head on, she returns to her hometown to do exactly that. In her return, she has to face Jake; the only boy she's ever loved. Yet the thing that stands out the most to Flo is his transformation. He spends most of his hours in the gym, boxing, weightlifting, boxing, and more boxing. Instantly, Flo notices that he's become quieter, fiercer and strangely distant, but she has no idea of what is going on in his head. After all, he's Jake. And no one knows a thing about Jake. While facing her fears head on, she discovers what the true meaning of love is, and how she can finally move on from her past and save herself.

[✓] ∥ It all happened in a split second. One moment I was on his back, and the next one I was lying on the ground, watching the man who would be responsible for my possible disabilities run away. The woman was sitting and had her back against a near-by wall, and from what I could see, her eyes were wide and she was shaking. I would be too, if I wasn't paralyzed. Literally. A few hours later, well, just about 20 seconds in reality, she slowly stood up and observed me with horror in her eyes for a few moments. I looked back at her, seeing as that was the only thing I could do to let her know I was still alive. "Dear lord, child, what have you done?" She whispered, looking down at me. "I need..." I could barely choke the words out. "I need you to call the ambulance." Copyright © 2014 by funkystyles

"There are crimes of passion and crimes of logic. The boundary between them is not clearly defined." When there is a gun pointed to your head, you have two options: Make a run for it or oblige by the criminal's rules. Sometimes we try and run, but our legs won't move. Panic sets in, and now you have no choice but to do what the criminal says. This is what happens with Spencer Hale. Trapped at a bank, there aren't many places for her to go with a criminal holding her hostage. When the sound of police sirens fill her ears she thinks she will be saved. Really this criminal has a different plan for her and decides to take her with him because she already knows to much. Sometimes less is more in terms of knowing things, and Spencer might just know too much.
