After quitting the Auror department at the ripe old age of twenty two, Harry Potter finds a nice, uneventful job in an apothecary. At least, it's uneventful until his old rival Draco Malfoy comes into the shop. They strike up an unlikely friendship, which evolves into an increasingly convoluted scheme, which then snowballs spectacularly out of control into a tangle of lies and blurred lines. One gloomy night after quidditch, Harry Potter walked into an old bathroom to find Draco Malfoy crying in front of a mirror. Harry doesn't know what to feel, they've been enemies for forever. He needs to help, but he can't let his real feelings show. What does he decide? He decides to take the Gryffindor way out.

Junior Auror Potter runs errands, takes witness interviews, does paperwork, and gets the coffee. Rarely, very rarely, he's sent out on the most routine calls, such as when Draco Malfoy misses a meeting with his parole officer. (Inspired by the song Nobody by Mitski)

A Drarry fanfiction based upon a simple question - what if Draco had met Harry in a different way to how it happened in the books? I try to follow JK's basic storyline so it seems similar to the books and movies, but with some differences (obviously) to make the Drarry happen.

Everyone knew that Draco Lucius Malfoy was an evil prick who was raised to serve the dark lord. What people didn't know, is that inside, Draco was caring and kind- and forced into a legacy that he never wanted. Harry James Potter, the Boy Who Lived, was the only one who could see through Draco's emotionless mask, and he was determined to help him. If only there weren't consequences. "We can be friends, if you like," he says instead, nonchalant and careless. "What I'd like," Potter says seriously, "is to kiss you." Draco feels his jaw drop, feels the way his hair tumbles into his eyes when he whips around to stare at Potter. "What?" he breathes. "I think I'd like to kiss you," Potter repeats sombrely, no hint of mirth evident. "You think?" Draco says steadily, proud of himself for holding himself together. Potter's eyebrows slide up briefly but then Draco can't think or act or speak or breathe because Potter is leaning in and cupping his cheek gently. "I know," Potter says simply, and kisses Draco.

In which Harry Potter has twenty-five days to gather the courage to tell Draco Malfoy he loves him. This, of course, includes all of the cheesiest, cutest tropes I can put in, including Truth or Dare, mittens, pink noses from the cold, snowflakes, walks in Hogsmeade in the snow, snowball fights, and, of course, enchanted mistletoe.

⚡️ Harry Potter, accomplished Auror, is getting married. Or, he will be, when his twenty-five question, scientifically valid survey (developed by Hermione) yields a candidate (see: The Potter Project). Designed to filter out the pureblood elitists, the smokers, the vegans, and the crup haters, Harry's questionnaire is, truthfully speaking, a last resort. Enter Draco Malfoy. Harry doesn't even consider him for the Project seeing as he's.. you know... male, not to mention his Hogwarts rival, but he's drawn into Malfoy's quest to find the man who murdered his father (see: The Malfoy Murder Mission). When something like a friendship develops between the old peers, Harry must confront the feelings he's been running from his entire life, and the decidedly unreasonable conclusion that Draco Malfoy just might be who he's been looking for all along. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Why are you staying in your room so much?
