When Nya Smith is three years old, her life is flipped upside down forever. She's forced to grow up sooner than most, and when she's thirteen, Nya realizes the world is a lot bigger than she'd thought. From blacksmith to samurai to ninja, Nya learns to keep her family close and set her doubts aside. Besides, Ninjago isn't gonna protect itself.

We as the audience don't always get to see what happens "between episodes." There's some things mentioned or alluded to that I wanted to see played out, or at least explained in more detail. In his senior year of high school, Kai reluctantly joins the drama club after Mr. Garmadon, the school's strict theater director, hunts him down. With the senior being a decent tenor, Garmadon insists that Kai tries out for the lead, much to Kai's dismay. It's already enough that he and Nya are forced to enter a new school once tragedy hits their family; now he's setting himself up for social failure as a theater geek. To see his little sister smile at every rehearsal, however, leads Kai to realize that drama club couldn't be the worst thing to happen to him. After all, the club is filled with a pretty interesting group of people his age, each with a different face and a different story. (Don't worry I'm changing the cover later lol)
