Young Naruto was running away from the anbus after pulling a prank on them. While escaping he came upon a big gate with the Uzumaki spiral symbol. Curious he pushed the gate resulting a blinding light shine from the gate. It open and he went inside the big compound. He was having exploring the mansion when, he came upon a room. He wanted to die. What was there left to live for? He had failed them. His friends, his comrades, his father, his sensei and worst of all his students. Heck, he let the entire world down! In the end he was ready to follow in his fathers footsteps and just end all of it. But what if Kami decided to play with him? What if she gave him the chance to atone for all of his failures? So now Kakashi has to learn how to live again without losing the last bit of his sanity. Will he get help from the unlikeliest places or will he break under his crushing need of atonement?

This fan fiction divergence point is Kakashi's response to the loss of his comrades and sensei. What if he was able to put it behind him and focus on being the best shinobi he could be? In this story Kakashi has never tested genin teams unlike in cannon. His first genin team will be team seven. He takes the team on orders from the Hokage and resolves to make team seven the greatest team since the Sanin.
