Whenever she was just three moons old, Hollykit noticed black stubs poking out from between her shoulder blades. At six moons, she could barely keep them concealed with her fur. Now, at eight moons, each midnight black wing is a cat length long. Hollypaw is ashamed of the wings. Even more so now, because most cats in ThunderClan look at her as if she's a monster. So one day, after one particularly awful incident with her brother, Fernpaw, Hollypaw takes off. She finds the Great Ga'Hoole tree, and is taken under King Hoole's wing to be a collier.
