You know those little kids you see playing in their drive way? Sometimes driving by you can even hear their sweet little giggles. Fast forward eight years and that little girl is sitting on her bed, in the dark, with her bedroom door locked holding the two sides of her skin she has just cut open praying the wound will clot. That was me. Fast forward another 4 years and I'm now twenty years old and a university student. For the ones out there that are stuck in the deep dark hole of depression and self harm, I know what you're thinking. You read these inspirational stories of people recovering and becoming motivation speakers. But that is not my story or my agenda. I still suffer from urges and depressive episodes. And in my experience, they haven't gone away. But over time, the urges become less frequent and the voices become quieter. In this book I'm going to share my insight on how I found the branches to climb out of the rabbit hole while sharing my story. And I want you (yes YOU) to take part in this book. You can share your self harm struggles or write about something new you learned about this battle. I want everyone that struggles with self harm and depression to be able to come to this book and find a safe place and read content they can relate to. (This book is intended for the people that are tired of getting advice from people that don't understand. I am writing this because I understand) This book will not include any pro self harm/ pro suicide content. I am not responsible for any of such activities that may be a consequence of this book.
