(After the Neptune Challenge) Kuron has been assumed dead. Dai is staying at Safety Harbor. Nere is scarred, but not injured. Everyone is at peace. Nothing could ever happen. Right? Taking place after the Neptune Challenge, Nere and her friends are ready to attack whatever comes their way. But what happens when an unexpected person is brought back into the equation? Nere and her friends have finally made it to Safety Harbor, but they are faced with new challenges. Nere struggles to find out why Dai left, but can't find it in her to hate him. The TobinXNere relationship and DaiXNere relationship both grow stronger. Finally, Nere is forced to make the final decision of who she will choose, but the choice could lead to death.

Nere and her friends are back from Atlantea, along with (most of) Kuron's kids. Nere is still torn between Dai and Tobin and fights to control her feelings. The kids try to adjust to life back at Safety Harbor, but just when everything seems ok again, they get an unexpected- and dangerous- surprise from an old "friend." Meanwhile, the Neptune scientists decide that it's time to tell the rest of the world about the Project. How will the rest of the world react? Who is the mysterious friend? Who will Nere choose? After Dai's Father passes, he gains the trust of the inhabitants of Safety Harbor, but is put in a tough situation when Whitey and Sham pay a surprise visit. Nere is worried that James' secret has been exposed and learns how Gillian got involved with the project.

There is a big secret going on in Nere's family... Liv is the sister that Nere didn't know she had. Right before the agents killed Nere's mom, Liv completed the transformation to be a secret part of the Neptune Project. Liv watched her mother get killed, right before her eyes. Now, Liv is all alone in the ocean, yet she somehow has to make it to her father's colony. How will she do it? That's what Liv needs to figure out.
