Unknown to FP, his new roommate is none other than his old high school lover, Alice Smith. He accidentally meets her six year old son before their meeting gets cut short. It will take time to heal all reopened wounds.

She still sees him. She still talks to him. Alice works in her garden every single day, after having devoted her life to the flowers she grows and sells in her floral shop. It all leads back to the first day of spring twenty five years ago, when she was forced by her husband to give up her son Charles. Even when all she knows is that her son never made it to his first birthday, it doesn't stop her from seeing him. He comes to Alice in her garden, the only place she still feels safe. However, when Hal finds out she has been repeatedly cheating on him, he destroys the one thing that means the most to her, the one thing that connects her to her son. He kills her garden. And as if faith decided it, her high school lover and real father of Charles stands in her floral shop soon after, when they haven't seen each other since they parted ways at barely eighteen years old. Will she ever be able to explain what her flowers mean and why she ran away from him at eighteen? Or would she lose him for a second time just like she lost Charles?

Alice goes after a serial killer that targets young women, with only one mission- avenging her daughter. She finds the place where she has to go: Twin Peaks. As she arrives there she stands eye to eye with FP, who is there on the same mission, working together with no other than Bobby Briggs. When they get to the Double R, Alice meets Shelly for the first time, a woman who could have been her twin and who simply wants her to be safe. A deep conversation between Bobby and Alice about their relationship follows, while Shelly clearly has her eyes on FP. He opens her eyes, in a way Shelly would have thought to be impossible. FP and Alice are forced to talked together in the chaos they are in and right as Alice asks the question that could break them for good, they find out Shelly and Bobby's daughter Becky is in real danger.

When the question about their past selves is prompted by the kids, FP and Alice must think about how differently things could have been if they were still the same kids they once were back in high school.

After sixteen years of living in New York and his decade long successful career as a comic book artist, FP Jones doesn't know how to finish the story he has been telling for over ten years.
