Chandler Chase remembers a lot of things about her mother: the way her chin would jut out; how she felt about responsibility; how much she despised the superheroes of Atlas City. After a terrorist attack leaves Chandler's mother dead and Chandler to live with her eternally absent ex-superhero father, she's more than upset -- she's helpless, lost, and alone. For most, there would be nothing to do but wallow inside all day, watching politicians in masks on TV. For Chandler, there's a completely separate option. Armed with a twelve-dollar mask and a fanny pack covered with astronaut kittens, and aided by fellow super teenagers who are each equally tired of the current status quo -- not to mention a very, very cute girl with enough sass to power all of Atlas -- Chandler sets out to do the impossible: be what a superhero should be.

What would you give up to dive into your favourite story? Romantic, sharp-tongued, with a tendency to fall in love with tall, dark-haired, brooding men--Leah is the archetype of the "Pride and Prejudice" fan. TV series, movies, comics, musicals: she has seen and read them all. For her birthday, Leah's friends and family pool together to get her the ultimate Janeite gift: the Bridge, a virtual-reality gaming device. By granting access to her five senses, she can live her favourite novel as the iconic Elizabeth Bennet! As she explores Regency England and quarrels with the infamous Darcy, Leah cannot help but digress from the original plot to suit her modern-woman convictions. The longer she plays, the weirder her beloved characters act, until the lines between fiction and reality blur. ⚠️ Content and/or trigger warning ⚠️ This story contains one scene of (unsuccessful) sexual coercion, and mentions domestic violence and death by domestic violence, which may be triggering for some readers. 📖 Featured 19 times! She hadn't meant for it to happen. One moment Harper Holloway was out In the beer garden to get some fresh air and the next moment she was in James Wittig's body embrace, his mouth against hers in reality rather than just the fantasy she'd been living in for the last ten plus years. James is more than off limits. Not only is he her older brother's best friend and had been since kindergarten, but he's also her older sister's ex-fiancée, who has been trying desperately to win back his heart after breaking it last year. When the clock strikes midnight, all bets are off, but when daylight approaches Harper knows her horses must turn back to mice, her carriage must turn back into a pumpkin and she must turn back into the baby sister in the background. Because if that other glass slipper drops, everything in their lives will shatter.

(ONC round two qualifier!) Once upon a time. . . There was a kingdom in the midst of a war. As troops were slain mercilessly, the king turned to the gods and prayed for a blessing. Thus, the dragon goddess, Tiamat, answered. She lent her aid to the kingdom in return for a hundred souls to become her offspring. The king, in a frenzy, accepted her offer without acknowledging the weight of his decision. When the kingdom was victorious, the king decided to go back on his word. The cost was one-hundred men too many; he refused to take that many lives. Furious, Tiamat swore to the king that when she had enough power, she would cause such devastation in the kingdom the king's legacy would be nothing but a story. Her power was depleted, but her fury was unlimited. It took the vengeful goddess a thousand years to gather the strength to deliver her child into the world. This child would carry the soul of a dragon that would slowly lose its sanity until it caused chaos throughout the world; the world the king had sworn to protect. There would be only one way to stop the progression of the mania before the world plummets into disarray. Yet, that is only for the dragon to know and the world to ponder. --- Cover by: 3uttdog Book One of the Dragon Secrets duology

In my world you have to be one of the Elite. After graduating from 8th grade it is a shitshow. You wait long intense nights filled with fear because you know one day they will come for you. They will get you mark my words on that. One day you will be ripped away from the comforts of your own home and shipped away to the cruise. None of the adults speak of what happens on the cruise. I can tell based off of the haunted look in there eyes it's nothing good. I've heard tall tales of a place full of hopes and dreams. They call this place High school. High school is just that though...a dream. In the real world all we have is the cruise. The cruise where some never return from. In my world it is survival of the fittest. This is my Entry for the Open Novella Contest III. This goes with the writing prompt #53. This is the direction I chose to take it. Hope you all enjoy. Peep the cover I made it and for the first time it looks halfway decent thanks to @-voidallison tips and tricks.
