I can save almost anyone's heart-except the one that mattered most. On my twenty-seventh birthday, my husband Spencer collapsed and died in my arms, leaving me with nothing but the echo of his love and the ghost of a future we never had. Two years later, I'm still running-from the grief that won't let go, through endless shifts, sleepless nights, and the sterile walls of Cedars-Sinai. But when a new case rips open old wounds-and an unexpected connection slips past my defenses-I'm forced to face the cracks in my armor. Do I keep surviving in the shadows of the past... or finally fight for the chance to live-and love-again? Because the man I can't stop wanting is my sister's ex- my secret first love- and worse, the one who never got over her.

I thought there was no deep connection like an emotional connection. And I thought that marrying my first and Only boyfriend was the start of a forever. But he took our sacred bond for granted, and destroyed it in such a brutal way I could feel it on my bones. It spread through my body and soul like a disease. And I discovered, how Cheating, in any form or coated by any excusing justifications is still as destructing. Sometimes, to the point it becomes Cureless. Especially if it's your sister and his best friend of three decades

The man I married broke me. Not because he didn't love me- but because he couldn't stay when grief moved in. Three pregnancies. Three losses. One marriage that shattered under the weight of everything we couldn't fix. And somewhere in the silence, in the distance I didn't know how to cross, he made a choice that broke what little I had left. If only I had known how fragile love could be. This is a story about loss that doesn't heal cleanly. About love tested in the quiet. About betrayal that doesn't come from hate-but from weakness. Sometimes heartbreak doesn't arrive all at once. Sometimes it happens slowly, while you're still trying to hold everything together.

Mila: He broke my heart to save me. Instead, he destroyed us both. I fled my hometown with a shattered heart and a promise never to fall for Jonah Beckett again, the boy who held me through every storm... until tragedy struck. He pushed me away with a cruelty I've never forgotten. I walked away and moved on with nothing but the wreckage of what we were. Now I'm back, older, wiser, and nursing a fresh betrayal. All I want is quiet, closure, and a fresh start. A breather. What I don't want is Jonah; bigger, harder, and with heat in his eyes that says he remembers everything. Jonah: I never stopped loving her. I just stopped believing I deserved her. If we kept going, I would have eventually ruined her , snuffing out the light in her eyes. Now she's back, and every disciplined piece of me snaps. The girl I left behind has become a woman who looks at me like I'm both her biggest regret and her deepest temptation. I made a bad choice before, but now is my chance to save us both. Love broke us. Lust reignites us. Truth and fate might finally save us. A spicy, small-town, second-chance romance. This is a quick read with open-door spicy scenes. This is intended for readers 18+ ONLY.

I've dreamed of the perfect marriage ever since I was a little girl: a marriage complete with a hardworking husband while I tended to the home and our children, preferably four little rugrats to call my own. I dreamed of a life filled with laughter, joy, and success, a life we built together. I dreamed of growing old next to my husband, creating a great love story to tell our grandchildren someday. It all seemed so possible. I was raised to be the perfect wife, after all. From the outside, it seemed I had exactly what I dreamed of with the rich, determined husband; the brilliant, gaudy diamond ring; and the beautiful home filled with the hope of future children. Yes, it was all a dream come true. I should have felt grateful, really. The problem is, I also wanted a marriage based on love, passion, and affection, but those are the only things my husband cannot give me . . . . . . because they're reserved for her. For readers: * I do my best to proofread before publishing, but some typos and errors will slip through. Feel free to point them out! * Comments, active engagement, and helpful critiques are welcomed. * Mean, unnecessary comments that attack me, personally, or other commenters will be ignored and deleted. It takes a lot of courage to publish your work and for others to actively engage in a community. I'd like to keep this a safe and fun place to rage at imperfect heroes and cheer for darling heroines! * I'm not a spicy writer. I rather use my word count for plot, character development, and GROVEL!!! * Most importantly, I hope you enjoy the little world I'm creating. Happy reading, everyone! ADS/Imaginationgirl35

Atharva ran, his heart pounding, the station looming closer. She was just ahead, a shadow against the dimming light. He called out, desperation thick in his voice, but before he could reach her, Ansh stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "Move, Ansh!" Atharva's voice trembled with urgency. She stood there, still, her back to him, but he could see the sorrow in her posture. She turned slightly, her eyes meeting his-full of pain, full of things left unsaid. Then she turned away, heading toward the station. "No, please!" Atharva's voice broke, but Ansh's grip was firm. "Ansh, I messed up. I should've talked to you first, but if my father knew about her, about me and her , he would've-" Ansh's hand shot out, grabbing Atharva by the collar. "He would've ruined her, right? Or is it you you're worried about? Your career, your image?" Ansh's eyes were cold, cutting through Atharva's defenses. Atharva's breath caught. "I know I was selfish, but I love her, Ansh. She's pregnant-I need to tell her I'm here, that I'll leave everything behind for her and the baby." Ansh's face hardened, his grip tightening. "Too late, Atharva. She didn't want the child." The words hit Atharva like a punch to the gut. "No," he whispered, his voice cracking. "She wouldn't..." Ansh's gaze didn't waver. "She did. Now let her go. Let her live, and you do the same." He released Atharva, who staggered back, his world crumbling around him. Ansh walked away, leaving Atharva in the suffocating silence of his own making. © 2024 [Oly V99]. All rights reserved.
