Ever since an event known as the Disaster, monsters and mayhem rule the world. There are those lucky enough to live inside the Fence, while those who don't, are treated little better than the beasts that they fear.

The story centers on a sickly teen- Matthew Wilder but extends to a world beyond the curtains of mortality. When our protagonist dies one night, he gets accidentally revived in the body of a supernatural hunter- Jason Cohan, who got killed during an early expedition. Before the accident occurred, however, a colleague of the deceased supernatural hunter opens the gate of the second hell division unintentionally, causing an outbreak of demonic entities into our world. Matthew is compelled to join the union of paranormal hunters, known as the TRANSCENDENTAL INSITUTE. This reason was of course due to the fact of being under Jason's skin. But little does Matthew know that there is more to every past than the covering of flesh. Now the secret paranormal society must join forces with other supernatural beings and put an end to the ongoing threat and grievance that is the Archdemon- Amon.
