[BxB] Life was pretty average for Culver Fleet, an 18-year-old certified couch potato slash pothead. He has spent every waking breath dodging responsibilities, until one fateful day he is swooped by a magpie and is... changed. He thought he just caught the bird flu, but then he started growing wings, like a budget avian Spiderman. Birdman? No. Birdboy. Well, at least until he and his friends actually agree on a real hero name. --- Culver Fleet is your average 18-year-old boy, who goes to university when he feels like it, which is essentially never. His days are spent lounging on his couch with his laptop on his stomach, sharing a joint with friends or dodging life's responsibilities. He does nothing and is nothing, but he has no problem with that. In fact, he enjoys it. No expectations, no responsibilities, no worries. But that all ends when Culver gets swooped by a magpie on a seemingly mundane trip to pick up some weed. A scratch and a peck, and suddenly he's growing wings and other avian attributes. And what's a boy supposed to do when he's suddenly a budget avian Spiderman and there are plenty of bad people causing havoc in the world? Well, be a superhero, of course. This is the story of a lazy suburban Birdboy (name pending), his friends and their journey to save the world, one swoop at a time.

Together this unlikely, and somewhat unwilling, band of allies will perform daring escapes and battle an onslaught of mages, monsters, and malodorous thieves as they race across a continent to save two nations from mutual annihilation.

[Professional cover bombed for a second time. Rebranding is going to hell]. Eyes to see. A heart to listen. Silence collides with chaos. Openly gay and attention-crazy Charlie Rascal doesn't mean to expose the secret of his quiet, broody classmate Aubrey Keats-who keeps his struggles as silent as the world around him. It was all in good fun, but this time, Charlie crosses a line that can't be brushed off with a little sass or dry wit. When rumours spread and high-school drama unfolds, Charlie finds himself chasing more than just redemption. He's drawn to the late-night conversations, the stolen glances across the classroom, and that magnetic pull neither can seem to resist. As their masks slip and leave them exposed, Aubrey and Charlie must decide: cover back up, or let themselves be seen-even heard-for who they really are.

I felt the push of the first impact, from just mentally reaching out to it fifty feet away, knock me a few steps back as I mentally latched onto the hood, pushing on it with metal telekinesis, my jaw clenched from effort. But the semi was barely slowing down. I backed up slowly as it came closer, the force of it slowly pushing me back, my feet digging into the concrete road. Time slowly started to speed up back to normal as I lost concentration. Behind me, two cars, stunned by the sight of the semi, came flying towards each other, and towards the school bus; the counterproductive response of the drivers was making my job all the harder. "Humans," I cursed, and flung the cars across the intersection like pucks on ice to a safe distance, breaking their gas tanks away before their cars could feed them sparks. I focused all my energy on stopping the semi. Soon, it registered that I wasn't going to be able to halt it completely, so I threw the truck driver and his seat out onto the sidewalk. Planted in the middle of the intersection, using the magnetokinesis as an anchor on the lampposts, I took a deep breath. Here we go. ~ ~ ~ Max is an alien with superpowers who is hiding among the humans as a high schooler. In his time, he was a cruel alien overlord, but has softened a bit over the years, until...he blows his perfect cover just to save a schoolbus of young humans? With the government on his tail, he must cover his tracks and make his decision...run, or stand his ground and go public? ~ ~ ~ Rated: PG - no romance, all severe cussing is censored, contains graphic scenes Written: late Middle School - early High School 2015-2016 Last edited: Mid-College 2022

Exams, no girlfriend, a cantankerous grandfather - George has it tough. And that's even before the assassins come for him, he discovers the magical sword stashed in the attic, and finds out he's responsible for saving a world he didn't even know existed. Talk about pressure. Fantasy and reality collide, as George battles to save his life, his family and - well, pretty much everything - from the forces of evil, while hopefully also addressing the no-girlfriend problem. Unless, that is, he gets killed to death first. Which would at least sort out the exams issue.

Now available in paperback! "I LOVE IT!" - CarniaHolmes "I'm going to break your nose, because I don't like your face," Carter said. She pointed to Zac. "I'm going to dislocate your other shoulder, just to make them even." She cocked her head and gave the main guy a sickly sweet smile. "I'm going to break your wrist, taking away your baseball career. And finally you, Finch," she said, looking to the last guy. "I'm going to bust your ankle because I don't like the way you walk." She slid her hands into her pockets. "Now, how does that sound to all of you? And please feel free to look amused, skeptical or patronizing at this point. I'll have all the more fun wiping the expressions off your faces." Carter Owens, daughter of a Secret Service agent, is trained to disassemble any weapon, any situation, and anyone. ***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain. *** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
