She's trying to find herself. He's forgotten how to take care of himself. She came to the city chasing opportunity. He never expected to open his home-or his heart. Hera Okorie wasn't running away-she was reaching for more. Tired of small-town limits and a life that never quite fit, she moves to the city with nothing but ambition, a half-packed suitcase, and the hope that something better is waiting. When a chance encounter lands her a job as a live-in nanny for one of the city's most elusive billionaires, it feels like fate-just not the kind she expected. Kai Roosevelt built an empire from the ground up, but behind the glass walls of his luxury penthouse is a man worn thin. A devoted single dad, he's spent years taking care of everyone but himself-his sons, his company, his reputation. Opening his home to a stranger wasn't the plan, but something about Hera's honesty and warmth chips away at the walls he's spent a lifetime building. As Hera navigates the challenges of city life and slowly rediscovers what she truly wants, she begins to see through Kai's carefully curated distance. And in the quiet moments between bedtime stories and boardroom calls, a fragile, unexpected connection begins to grow. But trust isn't easy-for either of them. And when past scars resurface and boundaries blur, Hera and Kai will have to decide if what they've found is just a temporary comfort... or the beginning of something real.

"Yes, Mr. Khan?" She answers innocently. "Get your ass back to this truck, right now." "You can't handle it yourself?" She asks in her professional voice, clearly around other people. "A bit tied up at the moment." "Don't bullshit me, Deanna." "I understand you're overwhelmed, Mr. Khan, but I'm sure there's a more polite way we can go about this conversation." She's killing me. "Nothing about the way I'm going to fuck you is polite, Ms. Wilmington. I thought you would understand by now that I'm not the one to play these kinds of games with," I say into the phone ______________ Deanna Wilmington didn't expect to fall in love when she joined Khan Developments and Real Estate as the Vice President of Design and Development. After spending years perfecting her craft around the world, Deanna was ready to bring her talents home and settle down. But working alongside her new boss, Harrison Khan, changes her set morals; Don't Fraternize Within The Workplace. Harrison Khan, a celebrated CEO and single father, has built an empire with his creativity and drive, along side his brothers. He's also fiercely private, shielding his young daughter from the spotlight. When sparks fly between him and Deanna, their connection grows into a love neither of them saw coming. But their happiness comes at a price. As the past comes to the present, Harrison becomes the target of malicious rumors and false allegations that threaten not only his career but their burgeoning romance. The relentless scrutiny and a particularly convincing accusation shake Deanna's faith in Harrison, forcing her to make a heart-wrenching choice: to protect herself by walking away or to stand by the man she loves. As the truth unravels, Harrison and Deanna must navigate the fragile architecture of trust and forgiveness. Will they find a way to rebuild what they've lost, or will the weight of the scandals prove too much for love to bear?

Life never was going to be easy, I knew that. But even I couldn't anticipate teaming up with my ex-boyfriends mysterious wife, or the darkness she unintentionally walks us into. Unless you want him off with your head. **** It's the simplest things that he makes seem so grand. The way he sits, blinks, hell even the way he picks up his glass of vodka. His tattooed hands wrapped around the glass, finding the right amount of grip so as to not break it. Glancing at him only one time I know he is the definition of beautiful chaos, perfection. One breath, two- "And that's your problem now." His deep voice whispers in my ear, the goosebumps that ripple my skin let me know this is very much real. "You don't realize that the promise of a man like me, is forever and binding."

I froze. A man was slumped against the graffiti-covered brick wall, blood blooming across his side. His white shirt was soaked through, and there was a gun just inches from his open hand. My heart slammed against my ribs. Run, Skye. You should run. But I didn't. Instead, I dropped my bag and took a cautious step closer. His head lifted. Piercing, icy blue eyes met mine, sharp even through the haze of pain. His face was all sharp edges and shadowed scruff, blood trailing from the corner of his mouth. His accent was thick and rough, like broken glass. "Leave." I shook my head slowly. "You're bleeding. Bad." "Not your concern." His voice was lethal, but he flinched hard when he tried to move. "You're gonna die out here," I whispered, kneeling beside him. My hands trembled as I pressed a napkin from my apron against his side. "I'm studying to be a nurse. Let me help." He stared at me like I was something he couldn't comprehend. A stranger. A softness he didn't trust. Then his hand, heavy and warm, clamped around my wrist-not rough, but firm. "What's your name?" he rasped. "...Skye." A beat passed. Then another. "I am Mikhail." His eyes darkened. "And you shouldn't have found me."
